Column radiator with altered pipework
The old radiator was longer than the new column radiator, so we altered the existing plastic pipework beneath the floorboards and brought copper tails up to the valves for a neater finish. The wall was unsuitable for carrying the radiator’s weight, so supporting feet were fitted.
Moving a radiator to make room for seating
We removed a panel radiator from the centre of the wall and fitted a vertical column radiator in the corner, freeing space for the customer’s planned seating area. With no crawl-space access and the wooden flooring staying in place, we routed copper pipework above floor level along the skirting.

Can a leaking radiator be repaired without replacing it?
Often the leak is at a valve, union or pipe connection, which may be repairable without replacing the radiator. If the radiator body has corroded or failed, replacement may be the appropriate option. We check the source before advising.
Do you fit column and cast iron radiators?
Yes. We fit column and cast iron radiators and carry out associated valve and pipework repairs. Suitable support and compatible connections need to be considered, particularly with heavier radiators.
Can you move a radiator without lifting the flooring?
It depends on the existing pipework and available access. If there is no access beneath the floor and the flooring is staying in place, surface pipework may be an option. We discuss the route and appearance before proceeding.
Can you fit a radiator I have already bought?
Send the make, model, dimensions and photos of the current radiator before booking. We can assess the proposed installation, its connections and supports, and any pipework changes needed.
Why is my radiator cold or heating unevenly?
Trapped air, restricted flow, a valve problem or sludge can affect radiator heating. The pattern of the problem and checks at the radiator help establish the cause. Uneven heating does not automatically mean the whole radiator needs replacing.
Why does inhibitor matter after radiator work?
Inhibitor helps protect the heating system against internal corrosion. Draining and replacing heating water can reduce its concentration, so levels should be checked and topped up where necessary, following the product guidance.
How much does radiator installation or repair cost?
